When completing casino offers the most common games you will use are slots. Slots have an RTP anywhere from 90% to 99%. This means that while they are a good option, we will still look to use blackjack or roulette where we can because these games have an RTP of 97%-99% or even higher. For this reason, it is always a good idea to double check which games are eligible for an offer.
There are lots of different slot games available to play but the selection you have to choose from will depend on the bookmaker or casino. The larger bookmakers and casinos will have hundreds to choose from. These can be slots exclusive to a certain bookmaker like Paddy Power Gold or themed slots such as Top Cat.
Another important aspect to consider is the variance of casino games. Slots typically have a higher variance than blackjack or roulette so it's possible to go many spins without winning anything or you could win a large amount from one single spin. The higher variance of slots can be an advantage for us when it comes to medium and higher risk casino offers so this is also something to consider.
Slot Gameplay
The most important factor to keep in mind about slots is that there is no strategy for playing them as there is with games like blackjack. We simply click spin and wait to see if we win.
For the vast majority of slot games, they are made up of a number of columns. There are usually three or five columns like in the games below:
Slot games have pictures or symbols across each row. When you click spin, the pictures or symbols will randomly stop on the slot and if you have enough matching symbols you will win a prize. With traditional slot machines in a physical casino location, the pictures or symbols would have to be in the same row and be in consecutive columns starting from the left. With the invention of online slot games, the developers have been able to get more creative and add features such as more win lines:
You can view the number and layout of win lines and the various symbols/prizes by clicking the info or help button once you have opened a slot:
Some symbols are worth more than others and the more of the same symbol you get the bigger your prize will be:
Most slots also have a wild symbol which can substitute for any win symbol except for the special bonus symbols. You do not need to worry about selecting the symbol for wilds as the slot will automatically substitute in the relevant symbol to win a prize if the rest of the symbols allow you to do so:
The majority of slots will also have some type of bonus which is triggered if you get enough symbols on the relevant lines. The exact requirements to trigger a bonus round will depend on the slot you are playing. For example, this one would need the symbols to be in a horizontal row on the second, third and fourth columns:
Adjusting Your Stake
Most slots have no set stake and allow the user to select the stake from a list of options. Usually, the stake selection button will be a symbol like some coins:
Once you click this you can then select your chosen stake:
With some slots, you need to select the number of lines and bet per line. For the example below the total cost of the spin would be 20x £0.05 = £1.00:
We will recommend the number of lines and stake per line to use in our casino offer guides. We usually recommend maximum lines with the minimum stake per line to reduce variance. In this case, it would be 20 lines times £0.01 per line for a total bet of £0.20 per spin.
Some slots have a max bet button located next to the normal spin button. Please be careful never to press this button as it will use a stake based on the maximum you can afford with your current balance. It is important to make sure we do not press this at any time and stick to the normal spin button once we have selected our lines and/or stake as required.
