The RTP (Return To Player) of bingo games can vary dramatically and the bingo sites themselves are not very open about these figures but they usually range from 50% to 80%.
This means, at the less generous end of the scale, for every £1 you spend on bingo tickets only half is returned to players in the form of winnings.
There is no upper limit to how many people can take part in a game of bingo so the number of people you will be competing with for one of the prizes can vary greatly. If you are buying your tickets mid-morning you will likely notice that there are not many players. However, if you buy your tickets at 8pm there will usually be a much higher number of players and therefore tickets sold. When fewer people are playing the number of tickets sold is lower so the prizes tend to be smaller. When more people are playing the number of tickets sold is higher so the prizes tend to be higher.
We do not tend to recommend bingo offers because the variance can be very high. If there are 50 players each with six tickets then your chances of winning each prize would be one in 600.
How To Play Bingo
There is no strategy for playing bingo. It's very much like doing a lucky dip on the lottery. You get your ticket and hope your numbers come up.
Once you have bought your tickets they will look something like this:
Before each game, there will be a short period where people can buy their tickets. One the game begins each player will have been allocated their tickets at random and the numbers will start to be called. These numbers are from a random number generator. Any numbers called which you have on your card will be marked automatically and if you get all of the numbers in the line, two lines, house etc before any of the other players you will win that prize.
If you are completing a bingo offer and the operator allows you to buy your tickets in advance you can do so. You do not need to watch the games or be logged in when the games take place to receive your prize if you win.
Bingo Terms
The Lobby - this is similar to the lobbies you will have seen when playing live casino games. This is an area where you can choose a room to enter.
Bingo Rooms - these are different rooms with different themes or variations of bingo. The standard bingo game has 90 numbers and is just like a lottery in the form of a game. In these rooms you may find games with 75 numbers and with different variations on the rules such as needing to mark off specific spaces on your bingo card. This is all automated so you can buy your tickets as normal and wait for the games to take place.
Bingo Cards - these are the tickets you buy. You can usually buy up to a certain maximum. When using a bonus it is entirely your choice whether you wish to buy the maximum tickets for each game or spread your tickets around as many different games as possible.
1tg, 2TG - if you choose to watch the games take place you will notice there is a chat feature in the room. Some people choose to countdown how many numbers they have to go. You can usually hide the chat feature if you wish to do so.
