There are certain accumulator insurance offers that allow us to lock in a profit. It's important to know how to Lay Sequentially before attempting these offers.
The Acca Finder is set up so that the bonus we get if 1 leg loses, is taken into account. This means that we lay against the value of the insurance to guarantee a profit.
We will use the example of the Coral acca insurance for this offer. The offer is:
Place a football accumulator of five matches or more and we'll refund your stakes up to £25 as a free bet if 1 selection lets you down.
Combined accumulative odds of 4.00 (3/1 ) or more must be met to qualify for football acca insurance.
In this method, we lay all of the selections sequentially (one after the other). It doesn't matter how many of the legs win or lose - we will guarantee ourselves a profit each time. There are a few things we need to consider when using this method:
- When we have 2 losing legs, we don't need to lay any further. The acca is finished and we have our profit.
- All events must not be happening at the same time. The AccaMatcher filters selections so there is a 30 minute gap between selections from the expected finish time.
- Lay odds may change and may need to amended in your saved accas. When you do this, the stakes will be updated. If the lay odds come in, our expected value will improve. However, if they drift out, our expected value will decrease.
- The AccaMatcher will filter for the best matches based on the exchanges you have selected. If you have a preferred betting exchange, you can select that one alone.
- The AccaMatcher will also select the closest matches based upon your search parameters. You can amend your teams by selecting a different one from the blocks of teams at the lower end of the screen.
- Once you have selected your acca, save it to 'My Accumulators'. This is where you will see the correct lay stakes based on the outcomes of the matches.
Key Points - Tips
- All of the matches should be at different times - WITH NO OVERLAP.
- Lay each match after the previous match has finished.
- If two of the legs lose, STOP and do not place any further lay bets. We have our guaranteed profit.
Example:
This is an accumulator which has been set up using the Coral offer. The key points to note are:
- I have set the odds between 1.0 and 2.0. I could lower them and change the 2.0 to, say, 1.5.
- The accumulator will run over a maximum of 7 days. If I want to, I could shorten the length and select it over 3 days instead.
- My back stake is £25 and as such, the bonus I will receive if 1 leg loses will be worth £25. The bonus retention is set at 80%. You should always look to retain this amount from a free bet.
- The expected value of this accumulator is £5.45. Your actual profit may differ slightly based on odds changing and the liabilities of different legs.
- The breakdown of your actual profit is shown below the expected value.v
You should continue to lay and follow the lay stakes until 2 legs have lost. Once 2 legs have lost, YOU SHOULD STOP LAYING. The lay stakes will stop populating and you will be shown a message at the bottom of the screen.
I can see that I have gained a profit of £5.40 from this accumulator.
