Our Racing Matcher is a tool which will change the way you think about Horse Racing Refund Offers and find the best matches possible to reduce qualifying losses. The key features of The Racing Matcher are:
- Races with offers are pre-filtered. The filters are fully-customisable by you.
- The Racing Matcher filters include the ability to filter by Offer Type, specific Bookmaker Offer, Race Meeting and/or specific Races which Exchanges you want to use for comparison, Min/Max Odds, Minimum Rating, as well as by Horse Name.
- When the offer is selected, the description of the offer you have chosen (including the maximum stake for the bonus) is clearly highlighted.
- The Racing Matcher automatically filters selections, based on the offer you choose,
Automatic filters include: Showing only matches when there is enough availability at the Exchange to cover required lay stakes. Filters out those selections under any minimum odds required for the offer. For example: for the Bet365 4/1 offer which requires a horse to win at odds over 5.0, the Racing Matcher will not show any selections under 5.0. It will also filter out those races that fall below the minimum number of runners required for the offer to qualify. - The Racing Matcher takes the maximum bonus stake possible and calculates your LAY stake and your qualifying loss making it easy to quickly identify a bonus opportunity.
- The Racing Matcher has an Integrated Betting option built in. This is where you can lay your bet directly from the Racing Matcher calculator if you have your Exchange accounts linked.
- Has direct links to the bookmaker and exchange leading to the correct page AND (at some bookmakers) places the BACK selection into the bet slip.
- Has a Calculator built in with all the familiar options, similar to the main OddsMatcher, meaning you can customise your Bet Type, Odds and Commission, as well as showing the full race information.
- You can also Log your bets to your Profit Tracker directly from the Racing Matcher Calculator too
All of these features are designed to save time by finding matches efficiently and ultimately increase your matched betting profits.
The Racing Matcher Filters
When you first open up the Racing Matcher you will see a screen like the example below:
Click on the Offers funnel (highlighted in red above) to display the full Filters panel. It will slide in from the left:
'Offer Types' Filter
Starting from the top: the OFFER TYPES filter. Click to drop this box down and you'll see the actual Type of Offer. These have the same descriptions as the Categories in our Daily Racing Offer threads in the Community. You'll be able to find a link to each days listing of Racing Offers by checking the Daily Offer Calendar
By default all the day's offers will be selected. You can click the 'Select All' box to deselect them, then choose just the ones you want to take part in by ticking the individual offer types.
Offers Filter
The next filter down is 'OFFERS'. Drop down this box and it will show all Offers available by Bookmaker for the Day. If you've deselected any Offer Types in the previous filter, then any specific offers available for your deselected types will be automatically filtered out leaving only ones you're interested in.
As I have only selected the 4 Offer Types in the previous Offer Type filter, it's now only showing me only the applicable offers available for those selections. I select the William Hill offer.
Races Filter
Selecting your Offer now populates the RACES filter. There is only one race for this offer so I can leave it at that. If this was an offer that applied to a few races, you would see a list of all available Races for the Offer in this list and would be further able to choose or omit any races by checking/unchecking the box beside them. For example: if you have already covered a race earlier in the day, you could uncheck it's box and leave the rest. Or you can leave them all in view to see the full list of selections.
Exchanges Filter
The Exchanges filter is the next one down. Here, you can filter to only show any matches with your preferred Exchange(s)
Min Odds, Max Odds, Min Rating, Autohide
After selecting your Exchange preference(s), the settings at the bottom should be more familiar
The Min Odds will be pre-populated as per any terms required for the offer. For example: for the Bet365 4/1 offer, the Min Odds will already be set to (4/1) 5.00 as they are the minimum odds you are required to bet at to trigger that particular offer. You can change these to suit and it will omit horses from the selections which are currently trading below those odds.
An example of why you might want to adjust the Min Odds is a Betfair Sportsbook offer where your horse has to start the race at odds of (3/1) 4.00 or more. The Min Odds in the above filter would show as 4.00 by default. However, you may not want to see horses that are currently trading at (or just above) 4.00, as that selection may fall below the required 4.00 by the time the race starts. So you could choose to increase the Min Odds a bit to help avoid that and remove those horses from your listing.
The Max Odds would just be your preference. There isn't usually an upper odds limit on an offer, but if there were, they would show in that Max Odds anyway so as not to show any selection trading higher than the Max Odds allowed for the offer. Perhaps you just don't want the higher odds matches to show for liability reasons or want to cut down the listings...You can reduce that setting to omit the higher odds matches here.
Min Rating is the lowest percentage match you would be prepared to take, the lower the rating the more Qualifying Losses you would expect. The default is 80%, in line with our other Oddsmatchers, however, your preference may be to only want to take matches above 90% to try to cut down on Qualifying Losses, so you can increase that preference here.
Autohide
Autohide is a preference for the action of the entire Filter Panel itself. With it set to "NO" the Panel will remain on the side of the screen once you start viewing races and carrying out any further actions on your selections. If you set this to "YES" then whenever you do actually apply your preferences to access the listing of selections, the Filter Panel will slide off the screen. To bring it back you would select the "Offers" funnel option at the top left again, like in the very beginning.
Refresh Offers (white, non-action, button)
At the very bottom, the Refresh Offers button is not for updating/populating your list of selections, The blue buttons at the top are the action buttons and it would be the blue Apply/Refresh button (or just a blue Refresh button if the Filters Panel is hidden) that you would use to apply your filters and refresh your list of selections.
The Refresh Offers button will refresh the entire day's available offers and races, i.e. it will remove Races and Offers from the available filter choices as the day goes on (once the races have been run).
For example, there was an offer earlier in the day from Betfair Exchange (Type: Refund if goes odds on in-play). As shown in the earlier image under the Offer Types section on this guide, this specific offer was only available on one race: today at 1:00pm Warwick. It is now after 1.00pm, so when I click the Refresh Offers button, that Offer Type is no longer available for selection in the Offer Types filter. The 1.00pm Warwick race itself will also not be available for selection in the Races filter for any of the other offers it applied to today.
For example, a William Hill offer today applies to all races at Warwick, but the 1:00pm is no longer available under the available Races filter.
Apply Your Preferences
Now that you have all your preferences filtered, you should go back to the top and click the blue Apply/Refresh button to update the actual listing of possible selections. If you’ve chosen to set Autohide to Yes in your filter, then the filters panel on the left will slide out of view and can be reopened by clicking the Offers button in the top left of the new view. The blue Refresh button shown in this view is for refreshing the available selections and refreshing the odds, the same as the blue Apply/Refresh button does when the Filter Panel is in view.
I've chosen to keep my Filter Panel in view so now, on Applying my chosen filters for this William Offer, I'm shown the available selections. There is only 1 as it's quite early in the day! No matter which view you are in, the black banner at the top will clearly show the details of the Offer, and the Max Stake allowed for the offer you have selected.
The Columns in the Listings
By default, the list of selections will be sorted from the Highest to the Lowest Rating %. You can click on the heading of any of the columns to change this sort order. For example: I have clicked the Details column in the image above so it's now showing the selections in Race Time order.
The Columns by Heading:
Details: The Race Meeting and Time
Horse: The Name of the Selection
Bookmaker: Your chosen Bookmaker for your selected Offer
Back: The current Back Odds available at the Bookmaker
Exchange: Which Exchange the selection is matching with
Lay: Current Lay Odds available at the named Exchange
Avail: The amount that is currently available at the exchange to be able to Lay (stake)
Lay Stake: Suggested Lay stake based on the Max Stake allowed for the Offer
Rating: The Percentage rating of the actual match in odds.
Qual. Loss: The expected Qualifying Loss you might expect based on the default max stake of the offer
The Calculator and Information
Horse Filter
Above the columns there is one more filter. Using the Horse Filter you can choose to filter for a specific selection by Name from the races which are being shown
You've Found a Match - What Now?
Click the Calculator icon on the far right beside your chosen match.
The Calculator is fully integrated just like the regular OddsMatcher Calculator and now features Integrated Lay Betting too!
It has slightly different look but all the familiar features are there:
Select your chosen Bet Type at the top. You can change any of the Back Stake, Back or Lay Odds and Commission as required. The Exchange Commission rate itself comes from your own default General Settings, meaning the matches you are being shown are correct as per your default commission rate. You can override this per bet/offer if required.
Clicking the Arrow icon beside the Bookmaker/Exchange will take you direct to the event at the Bookmaker/Exchange or as close to the market as possible if we are unable to provide a direct link. This will help with the speed of getting to the site and cut down on the navigation, saving you valuable time in case of a change in odds.
Hovering over a green Question Mark icon will offer a tooltip to clarify what each box is for. In the image above, I'm hovering over the Liquidity question mark icon to display that tooltip.
If your Exchange account is linked/integrated, clicking the Refresh icon beside the Lay Odds will update them. If they do change from when you first opened the Calculator, the suggested Lay stake for all the modes will also update.
The drop-down menu in the “Your Results” section will switch the Calculator between Simple Mode and Advanced Mode.
- Simple Mode will show only the Standard Lay Stake and possible Outcome summary.
- Advanced Mode will show the Standard, as well as both the Underlay and Overlay Lay stakes, plus a summary of all their Outcomes too.
Lay Bet and Log Bet Icons
If you have your Exchange accounts linked, then clicking the relevant Exchange icon(s) will lay the bets directly from the Racing Matcher. If Advanced Mode is selected and you want to Underlay or Overlay, then clicking the relevant smaller icon (examples shown below) underneath the applicable section, will Lay the stake shown according to your chosen option.
The same applies to Log Bet Button and Icons. If, once these bets are complete, you want to record your bet in yourProfit Tracker, click on the relevant blue icons underneath.
Examples of the Lay and Log Bet icons:
- These buttons will Place and/or Log the Standard Lay Stake
- These buttons will Place and/or Log the Underlay or Overlay Stakes which they appear beneath.
Close Out - Refresh List and Filters
When you've finished placing any bets, or just want to close out of the current selection to look for a different one, click the blue Close button on the top right of the Calculator. When you're back in the list of selections view, you can click the blue Refresh button to update the same offer selections and see any changes.
If you've completed that offer, you can move onto another Race/Offer completely by bringing your Filters Panel back into view and adjusting your selections in the Offer and Races Filters before clicking Apply/Refresh again.
If you leave the Racing Matcher for a while and come back later to check on some more Offers, remember to click the Refresh Offers button at the bottom of the Filters Panel to exclude any races that are no longer relevant.
And lastly...the "Refresh Offers" button will also clear the current day's races and move on to the next days offers whenever the races for the day are finished and the next day's offers have started to filter through!
