Two Factor Authentication (2FA) helps to add an extra layer of security to your account. If you enable Two Factor Authentication, you'll be asked to enter a special security code each time you log in to the OddsMonkey website.
This code is generated using the free Google Authenticator app and will change every 30 seconds. Having this added security means that as well as having to guess or know your username and password, anybody trying to access your account will also need to know this unique one-time code.
If you want to add 2FA to your account, then follow the steps below:
- Download the Google Authenticator app for either iPhone or Android.
- Log in to your OddsMonkey account.
- Go to My Account and select the Security tab.
- Under the Two Factor Authentication header change to Enabled from the drop-down menu. To the left, you will then see Select Authetification Option appear, from this drop-down menu select Google Authenticator.
- Under the Step 1 header, scan the QR code with your Google Authenticator app OR manually type your secret key into the app using the "Enter Provided Key" option.
- You will now have a 6 digit code showing on your Google Authenticator app that is labelled OddsMonkey. Enter this into the text box under the Step 2 header and click Verify the code.
- You should see that your code has been accepted and that your 2FA settings are now saved.
Each time that you log into your OddsMonley account from now, you will have to enter your username and password and then be prompted to enter a code from your Google Authenticator app.
If you're unable to log into your account due to 2FA issues, please email us from your registered email address and we can take a look into your account.
